August Stuff We Liked This Month

Miles Davis: Birth of The Cool

Miles Davis was one of the best jazz players of all time, if not the best. This BBC documentary explores the complicated and turbulent life of Davis, with archival footage, studio outtakes and rare photographs. After watching this I can't stop listening to his music!

Bupkis Book of The Month: I left My Tent in San Francisco by Emma Kennedy

I am always looking for my next read and I found this book in a local charity shop, and it was one of the best books I read this summer! Emma and Dee two twenty year old graduates from Oxford University attempt to cross America. They end up having the most unlucky time due to their young and naive nature. With only pennies in their pockets they manage to scrape by miserably with some dramatically funny encounters and incidents involving mouse fetus ice cubes, earthquakes and incontinent dogs. Hilariously written and easy to read.

Bupkis Album of The Month: Khruangbin - Mordechai

Khruangbin are a musical trio from Houston Texas. The band blends together classic soul, dub and psychedelia. Their album Mordechai was released in June 2020 and is the perfect chilled out background music.

Bupkis is a London based zine exploring the sloppy and clumsy through colour.
